What We DO

In accordance with the Local Government Act No. 281 of the Laws of Zambia and the various statutes. Section 61 of the Local Government Act list functions of Local Authorities. The following are the overall functions of Local Authorities:

How are business licenses obtained?

Apply at the council’s licensing office → provide required documents → pay applicable fees → license is issued after compliance verification.

How do councils support community development?

Through empowerment initiatives, recreational services, public libraries, and early childhood centers.

Do I need to renew my license?

Council environmental management units or direct to ZEMA (Zambia Environmental Management Agency), depending on severity.
